Spring Update

We hope that you are all well and have had, at least, your first Covid vaccination.

The Committee are pleased to inform you that they met for the first time in over a year on 31st March, to discuss amongst many things, how Islip Bowls Club is to safely Return to Play.

Following the guidance of Bowls England, we have carried out a risk assessment at the club and have a plan of action with cleaning protocols in place. We hope that this will reassure all our members that they are able to return to play safely and with confidence.

A separate information sheet will be sent explaining our new guidelines for you to follow when you visit the Bowling Club. They are all really common sense, but if everyone is aware of the rules it will help things run smoothly.

These guidelines will stay in place until we hear any further news from Bowls England and then hopefully on 21st June all restrictions will be lifted nationwide if things go to plan.

We are not able to have a Membership Night due to current restrictions. See below for details of the start of the season. Subscription forms will be sent by email or post shortly.

Dates for your Diary – hooray – at last!!!

Subscription forms After much discussion, it was decided that 21-22 Subscription fees remain £40 as the club will have a much-reduced income this year and outgoings have remained the same throughout 20-21. We hope you will support us in this decision. Forms need to be filled in and returned to June Holland -Treasurer- with payment please. Cheques made payable to Islip Bowls Club by 14th Apr June’s address is 39, Byron Crescent, Rushden, Northants. NN10 6Bl

Make A Difference DaySaturday 17th Apr from 11am We thought it would be great to get Islip Bowls Club Centenary Year going with a socially distanced get together. You are invited to come and meet people you may not have seen for a long while and at the same time help with a list of jobs that need doing to spruce up the Club and get it ready for play.

We plan to work in socially distanced teams on activities such as gardening, weeding, painting the men’s changing rooms, sorting items for Islip Garage Sale on 24th Mar, Covid cleaning the Clubhouse kitchen. If you are able to give a little time please contact Sharon Cole- new Secretary on 01832 732024 or email indicating which activity you would be interested in. Please bring your own gloves, gardening tools, hand sanitiser and refreshments as sadly, we are not able to provide refreshments due to Covid restrictions.
