On Saturday 17th April Islip Bowls Club had A Make A Difference Day to get us up and running after a break of over a year due to Coronavirus.
Over 20 members turned up on a bright, sunny morning ready to roll up their sleeves and get down to a list of jobs that needed to be done to get the club ship shape, Covid safe and ready for play.
Within 2 hours the gardens were mostly weed free. New shrubs and ground cover plants had been planted.
The kitchen area in the Clubhouse had been cleaned and sanitised. The changing rooms floors have been repainted and all is clean and sparkling with sanitiser ready for members to use.
Benches have been painted or treated.
Items for the Islip Garage Sale were sorted.
The green edges were repainted and are now brilliant white.
The Den was given a through tidy and all equipment was cleaned. We now have new mats and jacks thanks to Harrowden Turf.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped on the day.
You really did make a difference!!
